Landowners Needed for Survey of Invasive Removal Practices and Expenditures

The Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University has created a survey to find out more about the practices and expenditures of invasive plants removal in nonindustrial private forests (NIPFs) in Indiana. The survey results will be the cornerstone of a project aimed at assessing the efficacy of voluntary cost-share program in controlling invasive plants, sponsored by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture. The project will help to guide future cost-share policy implementation, optimize the impact per dollar of public funds, and safeguard the sustainability of timber resources and ecosystem services.

NIPF landowners in Indiana are invited to fill out the survey, regardless of whether or not invasive plants have been removed from their properties between 2000 and 2020. The responses will be kept in strict confidence and will not be linked to the respondents.
